frank even looks a little like Ivan. and inspires to be like him.
it's a loose theory and lacks hard evidence... but just maybe...

shareNah I highly doubt that. There is no indication that they actually knew each other, or that Ivan is more than a nice philistine rebound guy. They don't seem to share a long hidden love affair or something. I also think that is making the mother out to be a worse character than she is.
