SO babak was the kid that shot him? And the kid he helped come out of his seizures? SO was it all a dream? Also if Dr. Laurenson was there when he fell on his head and died, how does the future Dr. Laurenson not remember how he died?

There are two timelines for the future. Jack ends up visiting both of these. They go like this...
1) If Jack had done jack *beep* in the mental hospital
-----Leads to------> Meeting Keira Knightly who has lot her mother as well as numerous other bad situations
2) Jack saving Keira's mother and getting to know Dr. Laurenson, as well as splitting his head open on the ice
-----Leads to------> Alternate future where Jack and Keira become friends again in a happier relationship, and Dr. Laurenson theoretically having knowledge of Jack's past.
For the bulk of the movie, only timeline 1 is explored. Timeline 2 is most likely explored only by the last scene, unless Jack really is dead and the whole time travel scenario was all just in his head.
