Cant Stop Watching the ending...

Just watched this film last night and I cant stop watching the end, its so moving and emotional. The music was brilliant. Beautiful and brilliant film which near had me shedding a tear, something I never do watching a film! haha!

Heres my take on the ending:

Jack hit his head badly, knew he was going to die very soon and wanted to be in the jacket one last time so he could travel in time to see how Jackies life turned out after his good deeds. You can see how happy he is in the car, obviously his fall didnt instantly kill him and I believe when he eventually died in the shelf, maybe a matter of hours or minutes in 1993 he would disapear in 2007.

When Jackie says: "how much time do we have?" I believe she didnt remember him and it was just the directors way of trying to get us to argue over all the possible endings, and leave it open for debate. Although it did seem the longer they were in the car it was like they knew eachother, having a general conversation. Brilliant!

People calling this film confusing are over thinking way too much.

The film is very confusing and convoluted if you try to make sense of the plot. There's only one explanation that doesn't involve story-breaking plot holes: That Starks is insane and the entire movie is his mental journey.

The most illuminating line in the film occurs when Starks is trying to run away through the line of trees and Dr. Lorenson is chasing him. Starks says, "The real events that have happened to me have been *beep* up, not my mind!"

That is exactly the kind of a thing an insane person says when they think they aren't crazy. He thinks all these *beep* up things are happening to him when in reality he is having all these *beep* up delusions about what is actually going on.

Strings of events like the ones in this movie don't happen to sane people.

Jack died when he was shot in the head and just imagined the whole thing until his brain shut down. That's why he slipped and hit his head that's why he helped Mpampak who actually is the kid who shot him at the head that's why he was taken into that cube when he was at the assylum.

Maybe we are all in drawers? "How much time do we have?" before we wake up?

OP speaks my mind entirely. I believe the ending is just the way it presented, not so much confusing theory like everyone thinks

You are right if you think simple you will see simple ending if you think hard you will see complicated ending as for me i believe most of what happened in the movie was real as there was a lot of scene that Jack wasn't there like talking between two doctors which means it wasn't Jack's mind hallucination and time travel was real and the director used that two boys character to be played by one boy and the ending say "How much time do we have?" is just to make people think that the movie have different ending and meaning just like what happened in "inception 2010" movie ending .
