Great casting, great acting, great movie.

Nuff said.

Agreed.

Damn right! In my top ten for sure.

reply

Have you been seeing Transformers again?

reply

Fair movie, good acting, terrible casting.

Kris Kristofferson as a doctor? Really? A hippie, a broken down old musician, a brain-addled loser, these are good roles for Kristofferson, because he's not a good actor and has no range, so he can only play one role - himself. He was way out of his element in this.

Brodie was, as usual, great, but the script was poor and yes, the casting was way off.

I think Knightly is a real bad actress. She is a beautiful woman, but no actress.

So yes, I agree with the first statement.

reply

When you're that good looking who cares about your acting skills..

reply

Knightly's English accent was horrid. Too deep. She should have just kept her real voice. It made her scenes very difficult to watch.

He meant her American was horrid because her British accent kept popping up. That's debatable though. She was alright.

As for her voice, that was just what her character was supposed to sound like.

Not to be pedantic but I think you mean her English accent kept popping up.

Her performance actually gave her some credability as an actor in my eyes. The gruffness of her voice was fitting to her character, as her character seemed to drink and smoke a lot. And added to her hard edged attitude.

reply

Ah. Yeah, in this case that's certainly more accurate. I guess I was just being generic, pointing to the classic distinction between general American and British English (as in received pronunciation). But of course, she would sound a lot different if she were Scottish, yeah.

Scottish, yes. Not to mention Welsh or Irish or any of the two dozen or so completely different accents from all over England.

reply

Right on dude.
Can't believe how many 'tards post their crapload here.

reply

I find her to be an okay actress, but I also consider this her best movie so far. Very convincing.

Excellent reply. Personally, I don't think bureau203 graduated past "Hand Shandy 101" at Junior High.

What the hell are you talking about?

reply

Probably Knightly, with that weird grimace on her face the entire movie. I liked the film but her acting was bad to the point where it was distracting.

reply

Brodie is always great..
