I am in my upper 50's and I still love Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle. In fact, it is the last movie I saw in the theater....back in 2004. My wife wants me to go to movies and I say that I can't break the streak.
Ok....let me have it! LOL
I honestly say I can't blame you. I mainly go when there's a showing of an older classic, like 2001 or T2.

So I guess you were around 45 when you saw this? Interesting, did you stop going to the cinema because of other commitments, or because you started to find the home viewing experience preferable to theatres, or because you started to lose interest in contemporary films? I'm 34 and I'm beginning to find the prospect of contemporary films increasingly joyless, I don't think I would go anymore if it weren't still a fairly common activity in my social circle. It's not that films are so bad now per say, frankly I think mainstream films in 2004 were, in many ways, worse, but everything feels so mediocre, stale and derivative to me, and often part of an ongoing franchise. I had a nice run of theatrical viewing in my mid-20s before things got truly franchised to death, but I definitely envy people who got to experience the cinema as adults in the 20th century.
shareThere hasnt been a movie in quite a few years that I felt compelled to go see in the theater. John Wick 3 was the last movie I saw in theaters. HBO max is the new way for me. I got a giant tv and a good sound system and I can make my own damn popcorn. If the Matrix 4 movie had Laurence Fishburn then I would be stoked to see that in the theater but now Ill just wait for it to hit HBO max.
shareI love all kinds of movies I’m not supposed to. I still like teen movies and I’m turning 40 this year. No shame in liking Harold and Kumar it’s a funny movie no matter who you are.
shareHey, I love it too! Maybe not with all my heart and soul, but it's a heck of a fun and original movie, and has a few sly points to make about the real world, and a terrific payoff at the end. We all dream of overcoming all obstacles, and doing exactly what a man wants to do!
Too bad there were sucky sequels.
