A leader.
I just watched this and loved it and I was wondering was there a leader between Andre and Cal? If so who do you think it was?
shareAndre obviously, I think he was definately loosely based off Eric Harris because he was predicted to be the more dominant one. And the blonde kid is more like Dylan Klebold, he was shyer and more quiet.

There wasn't actually a leader. They said that. Andre was the dominant one, but he didn't force Cal into it or anything. I think that was part of the point of the movie, saying stop simplifying everything down to petty things like who was the leader, and what made them do it. Nothing made them do it, and they both brough equal strength to the little 'project'. Just as a question, does anyone think they were actually evil? I've had this debate with my friends and my friends mum. Me and my friend can actually rationalise what they went through, because we got bullied a lot at our old school. I mean, killing people is never right, but I don't think it made them evil, or that they deserved to have their crosses burnt. What does everyone else think?
shareI actually agree with you that there wasn't a leader. Besides they say it there are times when both of them seem in control. Andre in the beginning but Cal seemed to take control in the end. I don't think they were evil either.
shareI don't believe they were evil incarnate, but their actions were evil. If anything, while I was watching this I kept thinking these guys are clueless.
Instead of delivering some earthshaking message about appreciating your life because it could be taken from you at any moment like it seemed they had intended, what I got from the last scene was that the message that was delivered was one of hate and condemnation.
