Hehe, I play better then Gilmour, you should hear my music, but I just use an ordinary pick. Actually, when I come to think about it, John Frusciante uses the same pick as me. Ever since I had a 2 month jam with him, he started using the same pick as me. When I asked him about it, he said its because it has more 'action' and 'strength' in it.

I guess Frusciante must think I have the pick of destiny!

No! He just loves jamming with me! And I am credited for helping him with a stronger action in his strumming!

If you don't know him, look his music up on the net, I am on almost all his solo albums!

I dunno, although I could sure tell you who hasn't used it but the list would be too long for me to make!

There's a flaw with that idea though, because if the pick passed on from band to band the previous bands wouldn't kick ass anymore without the pick, unless some power stays with them if they keep it for a certain period of time, but I don't think that's part of the idea, so it doesn't make sense. Bands with the pick would be one or so hit/album wonders.

Okay, assuming the power stays with the bands, here's some:

Guns N' Roses...until Axl stole it from Slash (who, while still good today, simply never recovered his GNR greatness). Then Axl gave it to his guru (who brainwashed him) so he too lost his greatness. Its now on someone else's posession, because the guru sold it...one thing for sure, its not in possesion of stupid emo/screamo/gay-o whatever bands that are popping out nowdays.

GnR? Silverchair? Floyd? Really? Those are some terrible bands compared to todays guitar players.

I'd say either Children of Bodom, Wintersun, Black Dahlia Murder, sleep terror, arsis, or abigail williams has it...not some crappy classic rock band whose entire catalog can be played by some rookie guitarist...when floyd gets into triplets and sweeping, lemme know, until then i'd say it's definitely a metal band that has it...

We're talking about lasting legacies here. Floyd and G'n'R will be remembered long after the bands you listed (and honestly, I never heard of em until now) have gone and faded out...

Pink Floyd may not have been virtuosoes, but I'd take their material ANY day over those gay 'metal' bands you mentioned. David Gilmour put so much emotion into his playing, and it sounds way better than those guitar wankers who play 1000 notes per minute.

Technicality doesn't always equate to great music, remember that.

im sorry but you are an idiot slaughterhighme. i am also guessing that you have never played a guitar in your life, sweeps and triplets are easy as hell if you've played a guitar for more than a year. to play like Jimmy Page you need downright skill and feeling, not just the ability to play a simple arpeggio. even gilmour who i definitely wouldn't view as being on the list of best guitarist can play better than the guitarists of the bands you just listed
