As far as I can tell, the Rock and Roll History Museum in this movie is completely fictional and not like the real one in Cleveland, but I've never actually been there. Can anyone verify if there is any place similar to the place in the movie (guitar gods, etc.) or not?
shareThe Rock and Roll History Museum is NOT even in Cleveland, the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME is. And they obviously weren't in Ohio, so they were obviously going to a different R&R Museum than they one you're (not) thinking of.

shareI think they used ROCK AND ROLL HISTORY MUSEUM because the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME, in Cleaveland would not let them use the name of the actual meseum. THey also needed to set the Meusum in California because of the early references to JB's journey to find his fortune in Hollywood.

Right. They set the museum in Sacramento to make it a long but manageable drive from L.A. But at least from my recent experience, there is no significant Rock & Roll Museum in Sac (a good train museum though).

Not sure if this is a proper answer to your question:
-There is no Rock museum with a "Guitar Gods" section or "Guitarway to Heaven", unless they've left the props intact, and possibly in place.
-There is (or was) someplace that they were in, meaning the interior was not all green-screen CGI. it was, in fact, the same studio set used for Night at the Museum (2006), which was partially designed by Ben Stiller. You can see the match-up if you recall NATM.
