How did the devil get on earth when he wasn't complete?
If he was there to pick up the pick, why the hell would he need the pick in the first place?
I thought that the point was that he couldn't come to earth without being complete, yet he was there to get the pick.
I know its a comedy and not a really smart one at that, but that seems like something of a major plot hole.
satan is inside of all of us. so he possessed that dude when he had the pick. a stupid explanation for a stupid plothole. haha.

He wasn't really. Think of the bar as a sort of "in between" place. I think the audience were souls being tortured by terrible open mic acts. But he's pretty much restricted to the bar and the immediate area surrounding it.

As I recall, don't we see the proprietor go down out of view, and then the Devil comes up? So maybe the proprietor was not the Devil, but a willing servant of the Devil, and was pulled down into Hell with the pick, and then the Devil came up with the pick.
