Good news regarding the upcoming Blu-ray release

Just listened to a radio interview with someone from Tartan -- the new Blu release is going to be use a remaster from the South Korean edition that was just released. So it should look a lot better than the UK edition.

reply

Cool, but I only have a 720p TV, so.....

Is the South Korean edition a different edit than the UK edition I wonder?

Well it'll still probably look better depending on the transfer.

I don't think there'd be any difference in content though.

New Korean Edition was released recently.
And it seems there's been quite an improvement in picture quality.

There are some comparison shots with the British Tartan release.. See them for yourself.

wow, thanks for that link.

I can confirm that the site isn't cheating, the UK BluRay screen resolution looks exactly like the screencaps on that site.

Can't wait for my Korean Release to turn up

Do you have an exact date for the release?

reply

I don't, it's been delayed. But they're definitely working on it.

reply

Hopefully the delays will be beneficial for the release. Better to get it out right than a substandard version that was rushed.

reply

Kino's planning a release in time for Halloween.
