Does anyone have the new South Korean Blu-ray?

I was wondering if I should import now or wait for the eventual US release.

My only questions are

1. Does it have any more features than the current Tartan DVD? Are they subtitled?
2. How are the subtitles for the main feature in comparison to the current Tartan DVD?
3. Is everything region-free? I know some region-free releases have features that are standard def and thus not playable in the US.

I just received it in the mail yesterday. It was my daughter's birthday today or I would have watched it today. I will watch it tomorrow and report back. :)

I purchased on yesasia.com and it was pricey at 33 bucks but everyone here knows how much I love this film so I was not reluctant to shell out the cash.

i'm glad there's an actual HD transfer out there, because until now the only Blu-ray of AToTS (the UK one) was worse looking than the DVD.

i don't have the Blu-ray, but i'm looking at rips of it online and comparing to my 2-disc Tartan DVD. i'll post what i know and overseer-3 can confirm/deny

   Korean Blu-ray Extras.   Blue * for things i don't think are on my DVDs
* Kim Jee-woon's Short Film 'Coming Out(2000)' This is a Standalone Film. with English subtitles I think?
* 10th Anniversary Conversation with the Audience in High Definition
* 10th Anniversary Interview with Kim Jee-woon and Im Soo-jung in High Definition
* Story of 'A Tale of Two Sisters' (Making) with English Subtitles I think
* Interview with Each of Actors
* Deleted Scenes
* Production Design
* Music Score Featurette
* CGI Documentary Featurette
* Su-mi... (Delusion vs. Reality)
* Creating the Poster Featurette
* Trailer
* Misconceptions of the Film
* See the Movie with Psychiatrist

   2-disc Tartan DVD Extras. (All English Subtitled)    Blue * for things i'm not sure are on the Blu-ray
* Commentary with Director, DoP and Lighting Director
* Commentary with Director, Actress Im Soo-jung and Moon Geun-young
   ↑ commentaries are probably on the Blu-ray, i just don't know if they're subtitled
* Disc 1 Hidden Feature: A Letter from Su-yeon
* Disc 2 Hidden Feature: A Letter from Su-mi
uhhhh there's more, mostly the same as the BD extras, but actually i'm too lazy to keep going without knowing what the Blu-ray has for sure

there was supposed to be a Tartan Blu-ray in october, see this promo image http://imgur.com/B8qmQSB.jpg  but any sign of it seems to have disappeared off the net

I can rip most Blu-rays so will have a go at it today too and get some screen captures if I'm successful. :)

Cool. Hopefully these will be on the Tartan Blu-ray. If not I'll import the Korean Blu.

@CyberGhostface-1 - I have the Korean release BluRay, it came a while ago but I haven't even opened it yet. I'm waiting for the right time.

Why don't you PM Dan at WTI, I'm sure he'll be able to answer your questions.

Is this the one the latest Blu-ray?
Anyone know this come with English subtitle for the movie and the extras?

reply

Yes, it has subtitles and some of the extras do too. Unfortunately an open interview with actress Su Jeong Im who played Sumi (which is newer than anything else that was on the original Region 1 DVD) does not have subtitles. But it was fantastic to see her in 2013. She looked classy and beautiful, as always. Adore that actress to bits.

Well hopefully Tartan includes all of this on the US Blu-ray. I know with the Vengeance Trilogy they tried to find every feature available for their respective movies (although they missed out on the Harry Knowles commentary for Oldboy, but who knows how good that was).
