Question - step mother looking down (spoilers!)

At the beginning of the films, when both sisters step into the house, and (allegedly) Sun-Ju aproaches them and talks, at some point she stares at something bellow Su-Yon, with a bewildered expression and tries to reach for it, but the girls back away.
What do you think that was? It cofunsed me a bit, though I did ponder that maybe it symbolizes Su-Yon being under ground (being dead), or the hanging of the biological mother.

I don't think it's important that we know what it was that Eun-Joo noticed, or if it even has any kind of significance. It is much more important that we make note of Su-Yeon and Su-Mi's reaction, and that we understand the true meanings of the next few lines of dialogue. I think the Director just used the sudden conflict to get our attention for the next few seconds.
