did jerome ever plead guilty or innocent?

cant help but be curious if he would rather trade his innocence for artistic fame/recognition, or if that was simply something that happened on its own, despite his plea, whatever it was.

He didn't plead, he was being held pending trial. The case was weak and the lawyers knew that he would get off but he wanted to keep the fame going.
