I thought all the art school stuff was just out of this world and awesome. the phoniness that takes place in art school the confusion - i go to art school and some of that crap was just so on the money . but - i think that the whole murderer - kids dying- him going ot prision. i didn't think that was needed for it to be interesting or great- infact i think it kinda took away from the movie a bit. Shouldve just let it stay a basic story of the art experience cuz that was by far teh best part.

I agree, in fact so did a lot of critics. I'd preferred to have seen more of Jerome interacting with his teachers and the pupils, hanging out at Broadway Bobs and exploring his relationship with Audry.

Here in the UK ASC didn't even get cinema release which was very frustrating after the wonderful Ghost World, perhaps the reason is the weaker slasher sub-plot. I still think it has some great moments (hit the juice!) and works as a comedy on many levels, but it was kind of disappointing.
