Sophia Myles - the (only) reason to watch this film

She truly is the most gorgeous actress working today, and one of the all-time great beauties. But she was never more attractive, ever, than in this film. Perhaps it's because she allowed herself to be ever-so-slightly curvier (still thin), but regardless, she's utterly breathtaking, and perhaps the only actress who could be so completely believable as an artist's muse.

Because her beauty is so timeless, and because the character that she portrays is so soft and feminine, she provides a refreshing contrast to the ugly art (not Jerome's) that one sees throughout the film. It's like she herself is the one and only embodiment of Classical beauty in the film -- the kind of beauty that the modern art world has otherwise rejected.

I didn't enjoy the rest of the film, but the Jerome/Audrey scenes, or anything relating to them, were magical. I wish their storyline could be expoted into a different film envelope.
