That's not how you draw!

Was anybody else bugged by this? Anybody who's taken figure drawing knows that you work from general to specific, carefully refining your piece from a general gesture drawing and slowly adding detail. If I had kept drawing after the model stepped down my professors would have snapped my graphite.

It's different for everybody. That doesn't mean he was drawing wrong.

"Neither. I'm a vampire."

I took a classical animation course and yes it does seem odd that he drew like that. But whos to say that in first year, first term they just watch what you can do? It is just a movie. If you do something unorthodox, but do it really well then who cares if "your doing it wrong" or not. I thought the artwork was nice. This movie is pretty accurate as far as the artworld is protrayed. Its pretty sad.

If only my drawing 'professor' had been like that. We'd do half a figure drawing in class and he told us to finish it at home. What a moron.

It depends on the teacher. I had one that didn't care about the process only the end result, while another painting teacher wanted us the start from gesture and work from there
