reply

Agreed. Spike should really keep this show on the air, it's the only good one they have.

It's on, people. At 1 in the morning, though. But it's better than nothing, especially if you have a DVR.

Don't get eliminated!

reply

The schedule seems to change a lot. And no new episodes.

I don't think people understand that this show was taped in 1986 - 1989 and was actually a show titled "Takeshi's Castle". They aired every show. They would have to film whole new episodes to bring it back.

We know. But did they use all the footage? I do recall some footage was recused later on.

It would've been nice had Spike TV made more American specials though.

They used less than 20 minutes of footage (- commercial time) and filmed 81 episodes.
Factor in the replays, and most painful eliminations and the actual footage dwindles more.
The original show filmed 122 (regular hour) eps at 40 minutes and 10 (special 1 1/2 hour special ) eps at 60 minutes. Thats roughly 247 episodes they could produce.
So yeah, they could make a lot more.

Can you provide a link with the episodes and running times please?

I knew you were lying and thanks for proving it. The snow episode is 56 minutes long and on the MXC DVD in it's entirety. Have you seen any on the original shows, or just the ones aired in the U.K.?
I already did look it up. That's where I got the info in the first place. True, it's not first hand, but I did get it from a Takeshi's Castle fan site. Any errors in the running times are from the site I used as source.
Who said Takeshi's Castle is MXC? It's obvious you only skim posts without processing them. As far as how they could make 247 try reading my post slowly and use a calculator to figure the numbers it does make sense. It helps if you actually watched a few episodes of the series you are complaining about to understand how they use the footage from the original show and what would make that possible.
Your statements about popularity are just odd. IMDB's comment pages have nothing to do with popularity and nobody ever said they did. You may want to actually look at Takeshi's IMDB page before making such a statement - there are dozens of comments listed. For the record, I have nothing against Charles, he was great on Red Dwarf, but his commentary on TC I found to be extremely dull.
You should channel your misguided anger and hatred into something useful. At first I thought you were funny, but now I'm feeling sorry for you.

Umm...ok. Anywhoo, There was more than enough episodes of the original made for them to make at least two more seasons of MXC, but, I think it had run it's course. At least we have the DVD's to watch.

None of you seem to understand.I'm not locked in here with you. You're locked in here with ME

Never seen all the episodes, but some of the earlier ones, like the first episode, had a different co-host. MXC probably wouldn't be the same with footage of a non "Kenny" co-host.

But Spike TV has really let itself go in my opinion. I don't watching wrestling or any of that anymore. Only thing they got that I enjoy watching anymore is UNSOLVED MYSTERIES.

The guy who voiced Kenny, I think I saw him on DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES. He's probably still doing bit parts.
