Sssooooo, I'm sitting here watching the antm all-star marathon and......wtf?! It's been a while since I've watched this season so I think I forgot a lot about it. This season is weird! Seriously the only thing I can think to describe it is WTF! Lol especially the last couple episodes when they were doing the "motion editorial" for Tyra's weird ass book Modelland (sorry but that Tookie is creepy! Lol). Then the finale was weird altogether with Lisa winning when it was obvious they reshot it after the Angelea controversy. I just think this is a season they should take out of the rotation of marathons bcs it has a completely different feel then the other seasons and just leaves a bad taste in your mouth lol.

I do like that Dominique finally proved that she was a good model.

Dominique was so beautiful in All Stars. Her hair was amazing plus she matured a lot. She was so normal.

Dominique proved how important good hair is to modeling. Her original cycle she had an old lady hairstyle so no wonder she failed.

Totally agree, I liked her a lot more this season than her original one. Plus I didn't know she was from Columbus, Ohio which is about 15 minutes from me, so naturally I had to root for her lol.

I didn't like that season. I think that some of them should have been replaced with different people.

I had mixed views about Cycle 17. I think there was a buzz about it but I think more could've been done with it as it seemed almost like a celebration of ANTM and a big event.

I agree about Dominique. For me, I think she was the most improved and like a whole new person from Cycle 10.

I think the finale was quite a shambles though, which is a shame. I can understand why they were forced to re-shoot and pick a different winner, but it seemed how it was edited made Angelea's disqualification outshine the winning moment. I wonder if they wanted the views to be speculating what happened. Or else I don't know why they didn't just not include her in the episode at all and mention her disqualification at the beginning of the episode and then only focus on Lisa and Allison.

I too was also a bit surprised for some of the choices of the cast of Cycle 17. When I think of the most memorable contestants up until Cycle 17 the likes of Toccara and Jade would be included, but I don't think the producers could get everyone.

Jade said they asked her to come for all stars but their contract was absurd and one sided so she dropped it.

I can't believe how obsessed they were with Angelea, all stars cycle and her original cycle. Like get off her dick! She's not that great and she's one of the biggest bitches on the planet. Lol
I wish Allison would have won. I wasn't a huge Lisa fan. Too over confident for my tastes. Like big deal, you're super out going and over the top. I did like Dominique this cycle as well. I wasn't a big fan of hers in cycle 10.

I really feel that some of the models they brought back for Cycle 17 was a bad mistake. If anything, the only cycles that should've been represented were:

1. Cycle 1
2. Cycle 2
3. Cycle 3
4. Cycle 5
6. Cycle 6
7. Cycle 7
8. Cycle 10
9. Cycle 12
10. Cycle 13
11. Cycle 14
12. Cycle 15
13. Cycle 16
14. Cycle 11

Like, to be honest with you, the fact that Alexandria stayed over Brittney on the first episode BLOWS me. Brittney would've been great in the music video challenge! Jade from Cycle 6 was suppose to compete but she declined. I also feel like Shandi should've came back from Cycle 2.

I think I read Shandi doesn't model anymore, but I agree it would've been great to see her in Cycle 17. Her look is totally different now.

I too remember reading there were initially talks for Jade to be part of the cast of Cycle 17 but she declined the contract.
I heard two of the contestants made up the cast at quite short notice as replacements, and for some reason I thought I remember it being Kayla and Dominique.

I have wondered if another all-stars cycle was made now if it would include male contestants, as there wouldn't be as many to choose from.

Yes, I also read that Kayla and Dominique were the last 2 added b/c who they wanted didn't want to do it. What was weird is that I didn't even remember who Kayla was and she was only in 2 cycles before that. I think that it was Bianca that asked who was she while she knew who everybody else was. There are several men that they can get if they do the All Stars. Matthew, Chris H, Don, Phil, Will, Denzel, Justin.

Well, All-Stars was basically about getting the biggest bitches they could find from all cycles. They took the girls with the attitude more than anything else. Some exceptions of course (like Allison or Laura) but they were still picked by personality.

Heck, it wouldn't surprise me if we found out some day that they actually invited Robin over Shanon from Cycle 1 and she turned them down first.

They didn't care much about talent. Which should in and of itself show that Tyra is the reason the show looks the way it did and not the addition of the men.

As for Alexandria over Brittney, my guess is that since it's been a few years since her cycle, she grew up a bit and wasn't the major party girl she was back then and that's why they dropped her. Heck, Alexandria had the whole thing with a guy she shouted F-You in the first episode, no wonder they kept her on board.

They are re-airing it now on "All-Stars," and it's quite interesting to watch it now especially knowing about the whole Angelea controversy. I know Angelea was the real winner, but seriously? Her pictures weren't even that great this cycle. She started off strong, but then got progressively worse just like her attitude. I guess Tyra wanted the whole "fairy-tale" ending this cycle.

I was okay with Lisa getting the "re-do" win, even though she certainly wouldn't have been my first choice. She actually looked younger that cycle than she did on her original cycle. I forgot how good Allison was, she was so high fashion and killed it pretty much every week, and Laura's pictures are actually better than I remember. Dominique was also stunning that cycle! I'm glad she wasn't given an awful hairstyle like she had on cycle 10.

I never finished this season because there were way too many that I hated on their original seasons (Lisa, Dominique, Angelea - although Lisa was admittedly 100x sweeter on Celeb Rehab) but I agree that it seems like the cast was picked for drama more than anything. The drama is what I hate the most about shows like this so I never bothered to watch this to the end.

It's hilarious to me that Angelea won (wtf, how?!?!) then got disqualified for being an escort (not a surprise) than sued the show with some bs claims. Tyra kind of got what she deserved on that one. Put a classless piece of trash on your show, and this is what you get.

I am re-watching it also, and the whole "Pot Ledom" idiocy STILL ticks me off! They ALL made pretty good videos that were ruined by Tyra having to shove herself and that stupid phrase into it. It wasn't too horrible in the "Small Town Girl" video, because the tone was bouncy and cute, but it was so STUPID in the rest of them--especially Allison's. She's got a haunting and scary tone and then Tyra in those stupid oversize ponytails comes in. No blame on Keenan--he probably just wanted the nice paycheck, and who could blame him?

That's interesting others also heard that Kayla and Dominique were casted late for Cycle 17.
I imagine one of them replaced Jade.

I think Cycle 17 on paper sounded exciting and was a treat for the fans, but unfortunately I think some of it didn't work, and for me the Angelea controversy completely overshadowed the finale.
It seemed a bit of a shambles in a way. Some have speculated that the Angelea controversy only happened whilst the cycle had begun airing, which could explain as someone pointed out it seemed she was edited differently earlier on to the last few episodes. I always thought the editing seemed strange in the finale. Like in the finale, if they had to erase Angelea why not do it earlier in the episode and not just before the winner was announced? I think even Angelea said in an interview she thought it seemed odd and also leaving the viewers guessing what happened right before the winning moment for Lisa.

I really didn't like the fan voting/comeback aspect of Cycles 20-22, but interestingly enough I think it could've worked for Cycle 17, with it being about the "fan favorites".
I think Brittany said when they were told the first elimination would have fans in the audience they were expecting the fans would be deciding who's eliminated.
I would imagine if the fans ultimately chose the winner (and the judges and producers didn't sabotage that decision) then Allison would've won.

I completely agree about the Pot Ledom. They ruined the videos. Try a must have an enormous ego if she can't handle not being in everything. It's bad enough there are fifty pics of her in the house. I'm surprised the bedding doesn't have her pic on it.

When Paulina was a judge on Ru Paul she said jokingly "I thought you were going to be nicer than Tyra."

I can't stand All-Stars. It was mainly filled with models I couldn't stand from previous cycles, and many looked way too old now. Namely: Camille, Shannon, LISA(aged horribly), Brittany, etc. Just appalling that Allison was robbed of a rightful win as runner up when Angelea was disqualified. Allison was runner up, so the fair thing to do was to bring in Lisa, refilm with Allison as the winner and Lisa as runner up. Bringing back an eliminated contestant and making her the winner over the runner up is bizarre and just makes it feel fixed. Totally an unfair mess.

Was it confirmed that's what happened originally with Angelea winning?
I just thought that both Lisa and Allison were originally runner-ups.

I like Lisa, but I agree rightfully Allison should've won.
