Model Contestants who causes their own downfalls?

Anchal caused her own downfall by running around and out of judging like an idiot. Even Tyra had a "WTF?" expression on her face and mentioned that was the weirdest thing a Contestant ever did in judging. I remember thinking, "I'll bet she ends up in the bottom 2 for that idiotic stunt." I called it correctly as she was eliminated that very day.

In ANTM Universe, Monique was eliminated for missing a photoshoot due to being hospitalized for exhaustion. Tge Judges mentioned that Danielle also ended up in the hospital and still checked herself out and came on time to her photoshoot. In real life, Monique was eliminated because she was heard threatening to cut a Contestant.

Camille was eliminated because she was way too arrogant and claimed that her model walk would win the Competition.

Jennipher (cycle 3), I feel like the judges never got over her flashing them lol

Cassie (cycle 3) basically quit trying and wanted to go home, plus she had the eating disorder thing working against her.

Aj (cycle 7) was clearly over the competition and began to show the judges her attitude.

Brittany (cycle 8), her freakout over the go-sees was most likely reported to the judges and she played the sympathy "short term memory loss" card whenever it was convenient for her.

The only thing constant in life is change

Flashing the Judges? Oh my God, LOL!:O :D

reply

If I recall, she lifted the back of her skirt to show her underwear, not like she flashed her boobs.

And Camille wasn't eliminating because she said her walk would get her the win. A LOT of girls have been confident. Has anyone been so cocky as Jade? If Camille was eliminated for bragging about her walk, Tyra wouldn't have used that to inspire the girls in cycle 5. She basically said "remember what Camille said about her signature walk and how it would make her famous? Do that."

Consider the daffodil. And while you're doing that I'll be over here looking through your stuff.

I think she wrote ANTM on her bare butt cheeks.. The judges never seemed to mind boob flashes but that they didn't seem to like.

reply

Jennipher flashed her bare ass cheeks. The only one who seemed to enjoy it was Nigel. Tyra was offended, like, "How dare you flash somebody like me?? Don't you know who I am?" Janice explained to her that she'd get kicked off a fashion show for doing something so crass. Pretty girl though. But kind of a b-tch. She was so jealous of Eva that season lol.

reply

Do you blame her for being jealous of Eva? Eva was beautiful, alluring, and captivating. Most people would be jealous of Eva!:)

Drake is repetitive. He just raps the same thing over and over as if he is in an insane asylum! LOL!

reply

Didn't Yoanna do the same thing the season before and the judges loved it?

reply

In an entirely different context and manner...

AJ would have made a great model...if every shoot was to AJs liking. You can't be so "above" commercial modelling but enter a competition with such strong ties to freaking CoverGirl! Maaaaybe a second chance could have worked, bottom 2 her and tell her to get over herself quick, but I can never entirely disagree with her elimination.

reply

Actually Jennipher had ANTM written on her butt. She thought that it would be funny to do. She said that in an interview.

reply

Julie (Cycle 3) is one contestant that instantly comes to mind. Admitting to the judges she didn't really want to be a model.

reply

I read somewhere that Julie told the Judges upfront that she wanted to be a Fashion Designer, not a Model.

reply

I heard the same thing. She told them that and they encouraged her to be on the show anyway.

reply

This is true about Julie. After her elimination, I read her interview and she said that they found her at a club and asked her to try out for the show. She said that she told them what she really wanted to do and they still wanted her to try out. I miss reading those exit interviews that they had from the earlier cycles. They were very telling. So much that we miss out on with the editing.

reply

That's interesting about Julie. I think there have been a few contestants who were scouted and originally weren't that interested in modelling.

In my opinion the difference with Yoanna and Jennipher's flashing was, with Yoanna I think it was part of a judging challenge. I forget what they were being critiqued on but one of the judges asked Yoanna if she could even be funny and so she cheekily lifted her skirt.
I'm not sure if this is what inspired Jennipher but I agree with Janice if she said it was crass. In that challenge it was simply to walk and show the dresses. It seemed silly to me for her to use that as a time to flash with the "ANTM", even if she was trying to be funny or memorable. I think her excuse was something like "Might as well get it out."

Lauren (Cycle 10) Where do I even start hahaha. Oh Lauren.

reply

Brandi in Cycle 4, her attitude just sucked and quickly became her downfall.

"Who lives, who dies, who tells your story"

reply

Allison from Cycle 10. She was eliminated in the second round, in 12th place I believe. Her pictures weren't very good, but I don't believe she was the absolute worst one left. I would say Amis was worse than her and Dominique kind of was too at the point in the competition. Plus, Allison looked freakin' amazing after her makeover and the judges loved it. I think she actually could have been spared from elimination and survived another round, but unfortunately she shot herself in the foot when she got to panel. Nigel complimented her makeover and said she looked amazing and she said "I know!" And the judges were like...aren't you going to say "thank you?" And instead of saying "thank you", she just smiled and winked at them. And when she landed the bottom 2, Tyra called her out on it. She said something like "and you don't know how to say these two simple words: thank you" right before eliminating her.

Also Diana from cycle 8. Again, shot herself in the foot at panel. The judges commented that she didn't really seem that invested in the competition. So, curiously, Tyra asked why she wanted to be America's Next Top Model. And Diana responded "Ummmmmmmmm........just cuz...?" And Tyra eliminated her that day haha. Out she went.

Also, Victoria from cycle 9. Honestly, I really liked her photos. But the judges really hated her constantly talking back to Twiggy. I know that Victoria didn't mean to be malicious, but honestly, she really did sound pretty combative during her final episode at panel. It was something like "ok, can I just get one thing straight? I'm NOT insecure." She said it to Twiggy and she did have some attitude in her tone of voice. Right then, I knew Tyra was going to eliminate her, despite having a much better photo than both Saleisha and Chantal, who took DREADFUL photographs that week (it was the photoshoot where they had to pose as plants).

reply

Allison was too egotistical. Isn't she the one that said that she had way more experience than the other girls and I didn't see what was so great about her pictures. Amis did a post show interview and said that she wasn't really interested in modeling.

As for Victoria, I think that she was another one that wasn't really into modeling. I usually am on the judges side when they talk to the contestants, but 2 instances I wasn't were Louise cycle 18 and Victoria. I actually cheered her on when she spoke back to Twiggy and I like Twiggy.

The funny thing was that Twiggy meant it endearingly. She wasn't trying to put her down. If Victoria was as intelligent as she thought she would've known that. And if she did know that then she was a miserable beyotch to be so mean to Twiggy.

If Victoria had said it with a smile it might have made a difference.
