Well you could google if you want to know more about her. People who look into things know about her. It's not too much effort for you, I promise. It's the bare minimum you should do before complaining.

but if we have to look her up, then clearly she's not a supermodel. people KNOW who tyra is and what she does/is famous for (modeling).

Actually not really... Tyra, like Heidi, Elle, Naomi etc was actually known mostly due to things other than modeling. Like occasional acting, celebrity appearances etc.

The days were super models were well known like Linda Evngelista are long gone. Designers realized that people pay more attention to the model than the clothes and decided to back off.

Even really big successful names like Jenny Shimizu are relatively unknown in the general public (ask people and see how many know her)

Not saying that Rita is or isn't a supermodel, just that people don't generally know that many supermodels today unless they also do acting and\or are dating someone really famous.

Simon Cowell wasn't a singer. So what? She's beautiful and she knows how to look good on camera. It's not rocket science.

However Simon was a producer. Rita really has no experience in the fashion/model industry.

I don't like her as a host either. She doesn't look like a model at all (I'm talking about the whole package, how she caries herself, etc).

But I do think she knows how to take a good picture. I just wish she was part of the panel and someone who knows more about the industry would host the show. There are so many models who could do it. It just feels weird and a terrible decision.

EDIT: So now after seeing the thread about Krislianne bashing Rita over the Calvin Harris dog - I can see why she did this. And I kind of understand. Nothing worse than stealing someone's man/woman.

It was very unprofessional what she did at judging. It seemed like she just wanted to let it be known she disagreed with the decision. Like she was not going to take the heat for letting Giah go. Which is fine but she could've just done what Tyra has and simply said she disagreed. Instead of making the semi-childish scene.

Other than that I like her.

Honestly I've only ever heard anything about her online, and can't name a single song or movie of hers. But she is gorgeous and seems very nice...?

What I've got in my head you can't buy, steal, or borrow. I believe in live and let live.

I've never heard of her before this either. Honestly it wouldn't be an issue if it felt like she was actually a good mentor to the girls. There isn't the same kind of connection that Tyra had where no matter what it always felt like she really cared about the girls and wanted them to do well. Rita doesn't even have much help to offer, she always looks like she's going through the motions and has no expression or feeling.

Maybe it's just the RitAlerts, I wish they had them read text instead of looking a Rita pointing a damn phone in her face like a kid on social media.
