The private jet shoot was so unfair.

All the models shot inside the jet were on top, all the ones shot on the steps were on the bottom. Coincidence? No, the steps shoot was just a huge disadvantage.

reply

How was it a disadvantage? They've been doing these shoots since cycle 1.

reply

Seems obvious that it was. How else would you explain every model shooting outside being on the bottom? It would've been fair if they were all shooting with the same set.

reply

Models rarely shoot with the same set. Nobody was at a disadvantage.

reply

On ANTM they shoot with the same set almost every week... It's quite rare that they have different sets. This week they had two distinctly different sets. One was way more inspiring, comfortable and had better lighting than the other. The 4 models on top shot in one, while the 4 models on the bottom shot in the other.

reply

I actually think that the girls on the stairs had a lot more opportunity to do more. Like while I was watching them and I thought of like ten different brilliant, dynamic poses they could have done. Think Raquel Zimmermann. They could have used all that open space to create something really strong and high fashion. I don't think they were at a disadvantage.

reply

On ANTM they shoot with DRASTICALLY different sets a lot. The eating disorder shoot comes to mind. One girl was in a bathroom stall, the other was on a kitchen floor. Also the circus shoot where they were all dressed as different circus attractions/sideshows from Caridee's season.

reply

I thought facially they all did pretty much the same. I still don't get how the judges just favor the same girls. I thought Paige did the best on the stairs but she keeps getting the shaft.

Those who don't believe in magic will never find it -RD

reply

I thought it was a little unfair too. But as models they have to work with whatever they have and shine.

reply

You shoot with what u have.

reply

Is it possible all girls shot in both places and they only picked the ones in and out of the planes of their choice?

In other words, they wanted to put those specific girls on top or bottom?

reply

I totally agreed with you. Coryanne has said in her interview in BuzzTV that she felt unfair too. She felt very restricted on the steps in which she was not allowed to move around, but the girls inside the jet can move around the plane and interact with Jason..

reply

If anything, it's easier outside the plane. You have more room to move your body, and a better chance at telling a story.

reply

For the record I noticed the exact same thing, Toke, and I don't think it was a coincidence that the girls inside the plane did better because they were closer shots had more levels to work with sitting or standing. You basically had to stand on the stairs, and that is a bit more limiting. Also the interactions with Jason were way more distant, they had him looking at his watch for one of them, that was weird.

I personally think they deliberately give the girls they want to go farther easier shoots/more attractive clothing, but it's like not hiring someone based on discrimination--almost impossible for us to know for sure.

reply

If any of the girls who're on the bottom was someone's favorite, maybe they could get a different set. Remember Paige got jump rope to work with after she's miserable doing punching?

reply

Paige was also critiqued for doing that. And I don't think they get an option of choosing a different set, they just have to work with what they're given. Stairs and a bag.

reply

It's easier to stand out in a more enclosed space. The shots that were outside were zoomed out and had so much more going on to distract the eye.

reply

You have more room to move in the open space. More chance to tell a sorry. So, I disagree.

reply

I agree. Its a matter of visual perception. Granted, had the shots of the models inside the plane been awful it would have stood out more too, but I honestly believe all that space definitely worked against them. Inside they had a neutral background that would enhance their image vs the outside ones where there were multiple distracting elements...the contrast between the dark car, the white plane, the black luggage, the white walls of the hangar...not to mention inside they could do standing or sitting poses relatively easily...not to mention that none of the girls inside the plane had to hold their bag....they were all just casually laying on the seat. So the models on the outside were limited with that as well.

reply

The girls on the outside literally had more to work with.

The girls in the plane had to make the most of limited space. There was no disadvantage being outside.

reply

ya, you have literally said that three times now in this thread.

If anything, it's easier outside the plane. You have more room to move your body

You have more room to move in the open space.

The girls on the outside literally had more to work with.

I get it. you disagree. 

reply

Gets old, doesn't it? Doesn't feel good.

reply

Bwahahaha now I know why I have that guy on ignore.

Consider the daffodil. And while you're doing that I'll be over here looking through your stuff.

reply

I'd say the outside set was far better than the one inside. Sure, there were limits to working on steps, but interior shots looked like screengrabs from the TV show Empire, while the exterior was lit and styled a lot more like an actaul campaign for a high end brand.
