This film tries to justify Traudel Junge

I mean she was Hitlers fuckin secretary, but this movie and she tries to justify her. Like, I didn't knew, I was just an innocent girl, just fuckin Hitlers secretary. Yeah, yeah, she knew nothing. This bitch should have been sentenced in Nuremberg.

reply

Either you believe her or you don't; I lean towards the fact that she may well have been kept in the dark about many things.

reply

Like what? You really think, as Hitlers secretary, she didn't knew about the holocaust? This is even shown in the first scene, where he dictates her his speeches.

reply

Nobody's doubting that Hitler was an anti-semite; he certainly made no secret of the fact. She may have known something, she may not have.

As a matter of point, many of the families of the officer's in charge of the extermination camps weren't aware of what went on inside the camps. The officers were threatened with death if they did.

reply

And? It’s not like she was partaking in genocide or organizing it.

reply

Really? This is not a normal 9 -5 job, she worked for Hitler and is as guilty as the guards who put people into gas chambers.

reply

So everyone who worked for Hitler deserved to be hung? Even the guy who prepared his fcking tea in the morning? Not everyone who worked for Hitler was a part of the final solution. By that logic, 99% of Germans are also as guilty, because let’s face it, the majority of them knew what was happening and stood by and did nothing.

reply

Not every german is guilty of course , but you know you have to volunteer for the SS, and you have to volunteer to work directly for Hitler. And yes, everyone who worked directly for him, even preparing his meals, is guilty. Beceusy you know, you can choose not to do this.

reply

In the 1930s Germany was a fascist country. Young Aryans like Jung were brainwashed and forced into working for The State, it’s not like they had much of a choice when war broke out. She never volunteered to work for Hitler but was chosen from a clerical pool to replace his old secretary. It’s not like you can just say no.

reply

You always have a choice, and she chose to work for Hitler. Sophie Scholl chose not to. Not like she was any usual nazi party member, a"Mitläufer", but she was the secretary of a mass murdering maniac till the very end.

reply

Yeah, and look how well that worked out for Sophie Scholl LoL

reply

Yeah, Sophie Scholl she is a german national hero now, and Tradel Junge is the exact opposite.

reply

Traudl Junge is dead.

reply

Dude are you kidding me? Because of people like you Hitler could do what he did.

reply

No. She died in 2002.

what a tragedy for mankind

reply

Yeah, I know.

I sometimes wonder what was going on in the mind of some of the collaboraters in the countries that Hitler invaded. There was certainly no sign the Nazis were leaving any time soon. If you co-operated, you were rewarded. If not, you weren't so lucky. At the end of the war, many of the collaboraters were mistreated - or killed.

Hindsight is 20/20.

reply

I don't understand how it has something to do with Traudel Junge, who is portrayed in this movie as some clueless cool girl. But she is guilty in the participation of murdering millions of people.

reply

Traudl Junge was 20 y/o at the time she started working with him. She very well might have been quite niave about that at the time. We can argue till the sun burns out, but we will never know for sure. I think she may have been kept in the dark about the real conditions of the camp. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, "As a matter of point, many of the families of the officer's in charge of the extermination camps weren't aware of what went on inside the camps. The officers were threatened with death if they did."

It was no secret that Hitler was a racist, even at the time. The extent of the Final Solution was kept from most of the German public. She may have taken the job because it was a prestigious and likely high paying job. Most people would take a high paying pretigious job over a lower paying one with fewer benefits and working conditions.

reply

"Because of people like you Hitler could do what he did."

Back up there. Careful what you accuse people of!

reply

Sophie Scholl was executed for treason, while Traudl Jung lived a long happy life and even wrote a famous memoir. I think I’d rather choose the latter, Lol

Sophie Scholl will live forever because she is a hero and you are a moron

reply

No one lives forever, in fact Sophie Scholl is quite dead. Didn’t take long for you to resort to name-calling eh troll?
