Only properly good Hitler movie?

Can't think of any others.

Agreed, and I really wish Ganz had played Hitler in Inglorious Basterds!

that wouldve been a massive waste of talent since Hitler's use in IB is non existent

It would have effectively just been a Bruno Ganz as Adolf Hitler cameo role. I thought the Hitler actor in Inglourious Basterds was quite good, with what he had to work with (script, scenes). Hitler could have been featured a little longer in that movie, though, possibly to much hilarity, like the Downfall parodies on YouTube. That "Nein" scene is the closest we get to those sorts of antics, and it features pretty prominently in YouTube Hitler parodies, as well.

I don't think you'll get any better film about Hilter than this. This sets a Mount Everest high bar for anyone trying to follow up with another Hilter performance.

There is a new German movie out now about Hitler. It is called Er Ist Wieder Da, or in English, Look Who's Back. You could watch it on Netflix, even with English subtitles. I thought it was a very funny movie (it is a comedy satire of what Hitler would be like if he suddenly woke up in 21st century Berlin, and he tours Germany, getting up to all sorts of interesting, funny, strange, and even scary situations; he is the real Hitler, after all).

Er Ist Wieder Da is such a good movie, it came as a surprise and blew me away.

I believe that every one who has seen Der Untergang, will completely disagree with you on that matter, that Er ist wieder da, is a movie that blows you away.
The entire plot is ridiculous, Hitler coming magically back to life in 2014, goes on a road trip together with one who is bit of a looser, then visits various talk shows and begin to win almost every German's heart, because they all just think he is a corny Hitler wannabe.

Its not even comparable to any WW2 related production that has been made, where they had some one playing Hitler in it.
Its down right a spoof movie on Hitler, a comedy if you even can call that mediocre movie this.

I didnt say it was better than any of the 'serious' hitler films, because ofcourse it's not better than those. I just meant that it was a good movie and came out of nowhere, it was surprisingly unique and funny, and came totally unexpected

I agree, Look Who's Back appeared to come out of nowhere, at least probably for a lot of viewers from outside of Germany. I doubt a Hollywood director working in this decade might have had the nerve to have a "Hitler wakes up in the present day" film being made, but it was even surprising that this film was acceptably made in Germany, due to the censorship laws I thought might have prevented it, and the heavy stigma surrounding World War II and Hitler in general. I watched it once on Netflix, about two months ago, but I would watch it again at some point. It was that funny!

funny in a scary sort of way, since he was apparently using real hitler quotes and opinions on unsuspecting pedestrians...and getting a fair bit of agreement!

Triumph of the Will is pretty good.
