Matt's burns...

Did Matt Dillon really burn himself before this movie or is that all makeup? If they're real burns, what happened? I haven't seen anything about this in any news and there's nothing indicating any huge burns on his page. It just seems odd that it would all be makeup for a totally negligable plot point in this movie.

It took me awhile, but I found it. Matt is wearing makeup, he is not really burned. The makeup artists did a very good and convincing job!!

I dont want to get into spoilers, but I don't see how you could call the burns on his face a negligible plot point. You might need to watch the movie again, the burns have alot to do with the plot literally right until the end.

I agree with the burn marks althought in the beginning i was waiting for them to be used that and fearing they might be real. Yet the ending actually had alot to do with them. also they gave the character an edge

When he is talking with the hooker Steve Zahn's character sent to his room he explains that when he was a kid he was helping a buddy siphon gas. His buddy got a mouth full of gasoline and spit it on him. He says that he had a gas can in one hand and a cigarette in the other and he went up in flames.

Also, when asked where the person who burned him now was, it cuts to Zahn.
At the end of the film, Dillon says something like "you burned me, now I burned you." to Zahn.

"Well, polish my nuts and serve me a milkshake."
