Some Movies Are Meant to Be Watched More than Once
Employee of the Month is a gem! It's meant to be watched more than once to entertain the subtleties and criss-crossing plot lines that become "apparent" at the end of the first viewing.
It's a pure entertaintment proposition. I am amazed that so many reviewers approach it from the "Oscar-worthiness" perspective. Saturday Night Live(SNL)is not meant to vie for the Emmy every year, it's an experimental platform and so is "Employee of the Month".
The script is wittfully written with the right amount of "distraction" to make it worthy of a Copperfield Magic Trick Award. If the viewer expects a straight-forward plot, might as well forego watching Shawshank Redemption (which also flopped badly at the officebox and became a DVD-cult Genesis).
That's my $1-.98
Cheers
