Why did this get an F Cinemascore?

I thought it was a pretty good thriller and it didn't really have anything that I felt would turn off audiences from it aside from the ending being pretty dark. Certainly not an F grade movie to me.

reply

Because its a fucking awful movie. I saw it for free at a critics screening and I remember reading the reviews from people saying those who hate aren't smart enough to understand it. Nope the movies sucks.

reply

Exactly.

reply

Elaborate?? Why does it suck?? Show me a horror movie that doesn't involve the usual "Possession, Demons & Devil" horror movie that this is all Hollywood makes now??

reply

I only saw it once and forgot it on purpose. This is one of those elitist movies where I remember critics often said "if you don't like you're just too stupid to understand it." No I just thought the movie sucked.

reply

Because it is a mess.

reply

I thought the premise was pretty unique actually?? Not sure why this would receive an "F" when there are far worse horror movies than this??

reply

I guess I am weird because I liked it.

reply

I liked it, it captured the era very well.

The film is a kind of trilogy with Donnie Darko and Southland Tales.

Order is The Box - Donnie Darko - Southland Tales.
