They are petrified of ghosts

So why did they choose this "field?" They are supposed to be investigating and documenting paranormal activity but they always end up shrieking and freaking out and can't stay in the location for very long. I can't stand this show. I will admit I liked it at first, but I started getting into Ghost Hunters, and after watching GH regularly, I can't sit through a single episode of Most Haunted.

I think you are right, although I love Most Haunted (well, I only watch it because if David Wells....after he leaves I'll probably won't watch it anymore) the shrieking and running away bugs me too!
But the most irritating person when it comes to shrieking or running away is Cat, she annoys the crap out of me!

Haven't seen GH yet, but I'm planning to...

I think the people that are most afraid of ghosts are Yvette and Cath (for some reason I don't like her, I don't know why???)

You always see Yvette wanting the spirits to bring it on and when they do she is the first one to let loose the swears while screaming and running off.
SHE is the coward.

Cath just cries all the time.

Well i would have said that yvette and cath were the most afraid but now there is the completely ridiculous Brian. and he's meant to be a medium!! but he was the one shouting the loudest in the satans city live stuff.

and another fact that annoys me about Cat ( as some others have been commenting) She's a makeup artist, why is she even there, what does she contribute to the investigation, so she can prepare the ghosts to look their best if they ever find them, most of the show the people are green anyways so why do they even need makeup????

That is my biggest annoyance about MH. I love watching for the history of the places but my god. Everyimte some happens they scream and run away. There's a noise and they scream. Well done you've maybe drowned out any other sound. And just turn the cameras off themselves for s few minutes then you might catch something. I've done paranormal investigations before with a group who were very professional. No screaming. No running about. Just stay calm and quiet and keep any cameras filming what's going on around the place and not on who's there. And that's when you are likely to catch stuff.

Oh yeah it can be scary, your mind has a fun time playing tricks on you when you don't want it to, but for people who are so desperate to provide proof of the paranormal they sure as hell aren't doing any good. Screaming to drown out everything and just acting like idiots. You've had enough time to prepare yourself for things like this, they'e done enough investigations. And why still the constant screaming. That's no way to conduct an investigation.

A few years ago I saw a mist about the size of a 7 year old child walk past me and down the corridor I was so calm it was unreal I wasn't scared in the slightest but when I hear stuff that cannot be explained I crap myself so I guess you'll know when it happens to you. Trust me you don't want it to happen because you will become a bag of nerves like I do XD

I was on the toilet and I heard this old mans voice say mname in my ear but I couldn't run coz I was on the bog XD

You would think after 6 years and over 100 episodes people like Yvette & the irritating-beyond-belief, Cath would become more accustomed to all the bangs and noises that they hear in the dark!

I've just been watching some MH dvds from Season 1 when the show was good, pure, amateur (in a good way) and more geared towards genuine investigations rather than mass entertainment as it appears to be now. But back then you could see all the cast were genuinely scared of every sight and sound: and fair enough you would expect that from noobies to the ghost-hunting world.

But even now, six years, they scream the house down and run away! Just what is the point in trying to "connect" with spirits from the other world when you just do a runner at the first squeak!

Cath why do they take her on investigations if she just screams?! And the new Historian (sorry cannot stand her in any way!) she's just useless. She screams, cries and throws a hissy and runs away. No I didn't hear that noise Leslie you were too busy bursting the speakers on my laptop for me to hear anything. Just get people who can stay calm for gods sake.
