The father of Margot finds out that Alex is wired and tells him that. Couldn't the police hear him say that?
Also he puts on the TV to make some noise. Is this the same noise when the police think they thought he found out that Alex was wired? But this was long after he began to talk.
So does Alex in the end knows the real story (Margot killing Philippe) ?
He did no he was wired, and yes Alex found out the whole story and could not kill her father because he knew he was only protecting not only her but him as well. I think he was going to ask the cops to take it easy on him but the dad knew it was over. With all he had done even with him saving her life and stopping the abuse of the pother kids he was cooked.

He knew it when he searched Alex at first time. He created the perfect story to cover up for his daughter and make the police as witnesses.
When Margot's dad wanted to tell Alex the truth, he turned on the tv (cos he's a cop and knows it will look like the wire had some technical issues). Then he told him that he protected his daughter by claiming he's the murderer of Philippe. As he's gonna kill himself anyway (if not killed by the angry Alex already)
