It's E!'s Fault The Ratings Are Down
In my opinion, though heavily scripted this season, this show has been better than ever. It's always been one of the more scripted reality shows, and I like that it's quickly evolving into the reality-improv-sitcom that it was always meant to be. With that said, if this show is failing, it's all because of E!
When this show was on Fox, it did very well. Very few shows that make a network switch continue to do well, but its first season on E! did well too despite the fact that Fox aired the show in prime time during the week and E! decided to air the show at 10pm on Sundays. That fact speaks highly of the show's fans.
Unfortunately, this season, E! has fooled around with their schedule so often that it's hard to determine when the show will air. Although it was successful on Sundays last season, they switched the show to Mondays this season. Little promotion plus a time change made it difficult for fans to catch the show.
To make things worse, E! decided to switch the show back to Sundays when they realized that many fans were confused. Sadly, the damage had been done and E! began to play around with its schedule. Some weeks the show would air at different times and some weeks the show wouldn't air at all. It's been hard to keep up.
I am not a ditzy pre-teen girl, so it's not like following the show's schedule has been difficult because I'm a child. I am an adult, and I think E! has underestimated this show's audience. This show still has potential, and if the show is failing it's because of the network, not because of the show itself or its fans.
