It's E!'s Fault The Ratings Are Down

In my opinion, though heavily scripted this season, this show has been better than ever. It's always been one of the more scripted reality shows, and I like that it's quickly evolving into the reality-improv-sitcom that it was always meant to be. With that said, if this show is failing, it's all because of E!

When this show was on Fox, it did very well. Very few shows that make a network switch continue to do well, but its first season on E! did well too despite the fact that Fox aired the show in prime time during the week and E! decided to air the show at 10pm on Sundays. That fact speaks highly of the show's fans.

Unfortunately, this season, E! has fooled around with their schedule so often that it's hard to determine when the show will air. Although it was successful on Sundays last season, they switched the show to Mondays this season. Little promotion plus a time change made it difficult for fans to catch the show.

To make things worse, E! decided to switch the show back to Sundays when they realized that many fans were confused. Sadly, the damage had been done and E! began to play around with its schedule. Some weeks the show would air at different times and some weeks the show wouldn't air at all. It's been hard to keep up.

I am not a ditzy pre-teen girl, so it's not like following the show's schedule has been difficult because I'm a child. I am an adult, and I think E! has underestimated this show's audience. This show still has potential, and if the show is failing it's because of the network, not because of the show itself or its fans.

Its failing because its complety scripted now.

Season 4 was just as scripted.

how low are the ratings now?

I wonder if they'll start replaying the older episodes from the other seasons? I know E! used to play them at like 2 in the morning and eventually those reruns vanished. I wish they'd at least go through the whole series and play each episode again before dropping the show completely.

this scene is noticeably very ccontrived and scripted.

much more obvious than any other season.

Personally I'm actually glad the show is over now. I dont think this season was all that good. I mean sure i still had a few laughs but it was just WAY too scripted. NO longer as fun and realistic as it use to be. Also since both Paris and NIcole want to sort of move on and become mature and stuff. So maybe this will be a good way for them to really change and start their "new" lives.

anyways the show has some great memories, and i much rather watch the reruns of the first few seasons appose to watching any new scripted seasons of this show.

I totally agree with you! couldn't have said it better!!! Myke Hawke is fooine, so is the other guy that is after Paris..! Yes, when it was on fox it had great ratings, this is E's fault. The show is hilarious, great show and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I also think that E has underestimated the shows audience and I'm an adult too, I totally feel you on this one!
