Wow What A Movie!

Wow this has to be the weirdest movie I’ve seen in awhile. I liked this better than Welcome To The Dollhouse. 9/10 from me

It's the only Solondz movie I don't rate a 10 (7/10), but it's probably his most disturbing flick (and yes, the most bizarre).

What an odd film. I remember reading about the multiple actors playing one part idea when this was released but other than that i knew nothing about the film. For the first half an hour or so i saw the film as a fairly straight forward drama looking at abortion, with the multiple actor thing as a gimmick. Then, from about the 40 minute mark it became (for me at least) a very dark comedy taking the piss out of fanatical Christians, Pro-Lifers, disability and paedophilia. Im not sure if i was supposed to view it like that but there you go. And im still not sure what the point behind the multiple actor thing was. Interesting film though. 6/10

Just remember the stuff Mark said at the end. How she'll never change who she really is and the multiple actress thing comes into play with that, especially at the end when it *SPOILER* shows her as a little girl again and she still wants a baby and is happy about it.*/SPOILER*

Pretty damn amazing. Beautiful film.

I just want to say that this film did some really fantastic stuff way ahead of the pack in juggling some altogether tricky concepts - eternal recurrence/swapping various actors for the protagonist (last experimented w/ by Bunuel, I think) as well as tackling teenage pregnancy, abortion, and paedophilia head on.

This season we have 'Juno' and 'I'm Not There' getting touted for their respective departures from conventional subject matter and storytelling devices. I wish more critics had better memories when it came to which films set precedents and which improve on or enrich them.
