Palindromes versus Desperate Living

I think Palindromes and Desperate Living (Waters, USA, 1977) have more in common than it seem at first: They both deal with a runaway and meeting with strange characters; sexuality is a very important part of the plot; the main character goes through several changes along the way; both movies have a dark fairytale quality and perhaps some other coincidences... Let me know your thoughts about that.

Ummm.. I don't think it's Desperate Living you're thinking of. They were exiled to Mortville.. It's more like Female Trouble. Aviva is a lot like Dawn Davenport.

I'm a huge Waters fan! and also love Desperate Living, and Female Trouble is my all time fave movie. I think Palindromes was similiar to the movie Citizen Ruth, although Palindromes was better, anything Todd does is brilliant.
