Jiminy
Was Jiminy actually Mama Sunshine's son? Sorry to be shallow, but I didn't think he had a handicap.
Best film: Koyaanisqatsi
Scariest film: A Tale Of Two Sisters
Sexiest film: A Bout De Souffle

At first I thought he was the oldest brother from Hanson
shareNo, I don't think he does either. I looked at his profile and he is shown at an award show. But he sure does bring a smile to my face...he's great!

There is one who's handicap is that he is "gay". It's part of the Christian satire element of the movie. I think it was only implied. I don't know who it was though.
This sucks worse than I Heart Huckabees ----Stewie Griffin
"There is one whose handicap is that he is gay."
Could very well be him. There's also the boy who used to be "heathen" but is "cured" now. But how do you know this, what kind of handicap everyone has and that one's supposed to be gay? Is there a list or something? Stupid question, but I'm curious, and it's not obvious with everyone.
Jiminy was a great character, I just couldn't stop smiling over him.
I was actually asked what his handicap was when I showed it to some friends. The only thing I could come up with was that he was kind of creepy. But the gay thing could work, I can see it plus it would be another hilarious element to the film
'How were you helping that poor confused bisexual woman by calling her an equal opportunity slut?'
the character is gay because the xtian faith states that there is something "wrong" with homosexuals (like it's a defect, just like the girl born blind had a "defect" in the eyes of the family). so, like all the other children, mama sunshine and her husband take them in and try to "fix" them and make them one of jebus' children or whatnot.
Hollywood films = how we want the world to be.
Independent films = how the world really is.
I think I read that he was gay in an interview with Solondz. Can't remember.

There's lots of interesting stuff about that family... or rather, the "parents'" view on them. Like the epileptic boy, that there's nothing wrong with, according to Bo. And they speak of Barbara's blindness, but not once is it mentioned that she's albino. Does she even know that herself?
shareYeah I just finished the film and that's what I had figured but I wanted to check the boards to see if anyone knew, I just figured he was supposed to be gay, no real reason, just a feeling. did anyone else think the aborted fetus in the bag was HILARIOUS?
I read that interview, too. That's where I heard it, at least. I didn't quite see very much in the film to suggest it though...
