Is this a sequel to Welcome To The Dollhouse???

Not exactly. It takes place in the same universe several years later, and this time the story centers around Aviva, Dawn's younger cousin.

Soo... you care about the opinions of a woman whose pet peeves are sobriety and kindness.

I thought she was Dawns cousin but when Mark picks her up hitchhiking they act like they barely know each other.

Yea, they did kind of act like they didn't know eachother. I thought the same thing and thought it could have been explained better.

but now that i think of it... A lot of people have cousins that they aren't close with, but they are still family. which is exactly why he stopped to pick her up and not some stranger. he's obligated.

It can't be a sequel, because it's not about the same people and doesn't pick up the the previous storyline. Palindomes does share some themes with WTTD and it's common for screenwriters and playwrights to use the same characters in more than one work. I think Palindromes merely explores more deeply the ideas of loss of innocence and the need for love that were central to WTTD. For that matter, however, Happiness looked at the same issues. So, I suppose one could look at the three movies as a thematically linked trilogy.
