Trent reznor

The writer apparently penned this with Trent reznor in mind. Not to play the character of reznick, but as a basis for the character. I can't really see the similarities in characters but the overall tone of the movie does have a nine inch nails feel to it.

Bleak, washed out, dark and industrial, it brings to mind that Trent was originally approached to write the soundtrack, or at least lend songs from the nin back catalogue. As big of a Trent reznor fan I am, hearing his scores for social network and girl with the dragon tattoo, I don't think that style would have worked too well for the pace and story of the machinist and think the score they sent with fits really well.

Does anyone think a reznor score would have been better/worse? Or a different artist altogether?

Actually, now I think about it, mike Patton would have been a great choice.
