An OK movie...rather dreary, depressing, but Bale is VERY good...
Jennifer Jason Leigh is good too....
The movie/story line is unusual, all the way around.
I'd give the movie a 6 at most...but Bale: a 7.5, easily.

Bale is definitely obe of the best actor of his generation! I'm really hard with actors, but Bale proved me that he is just too outstanding!
shareThe movie is ordinary, and, sadly, so is Bale's performance. But then I can see how it was difficult to bring depth or life to any of the characters in this one-dimensional script.
I'd rate any other Bale performance above this one. And that includes Empire of the Sun way back when. He's one of my favorite actors. But not in this dismal movie.
