Wierd depth of field

OK, so I saw a bit of this film, which is a huge regret.
Still, I have a question.
Did anyone else notice a very bizarre faked depth of field in it? The scene is where the main character is auditioning for a play. She is in the foreground on the right of the screen and the bitchy pouty girl is in the background on the left about 3 or 4ft behind her. They are both in perfect focus while the rest of the image (including people behind both of them and in between them) is very out of focus. I'm assuming that Lohan's shot was greenscreened and composited onto the image. Still, seems like a very strange choice. It totally freaked me out.
Note: good effect to represent a drug trip...

i also noticed that when ella and lola are in nyc, lola talks to her dad. when the shot goes to lola with ella behind her, it looks like it was put in, the edges are blurry and distorted.

Who am I? I'm Captain Jack Sparrow.

ARRRGGGHH! I'm just watching this movie right now and noticed that also. Weird that I came across the topic within minutes of being feaked by the strange visuals. There's a scene with 3 girls in the schoolyard talking to Lohan's character and it looks like they're standing in front of a green screen. Now we'll have to see how many green screen scenes the movie has. It's probably an indication of skimping on location shots and fixing things up in post.
