In the book, the band Sidarthur was called Sidartha. Sidartha Guatama was the Buddha. Nirvana is what Buddhists are supposed to strive for.
Stu Wolfe had Kurt Cobain's basic hair style too.

Yeah, the band was definitely based on Nirvana.
