I cried in the end when Kong was playing on ice with Ann, and when Kong took Ann to see the sunrise on Empire state building, and when Ann was yelling "no" at the airplane and when Kong died...The New york scenes were definitely tearjerkers and the music helped a great deal...I absolutely loved the amazing soundtrack they made me sympathize with Kong even more...

Really sad when we first see the injured Kong clinging on the side of the building while Ann is walking up to him and then Kong silently slipping down the building and down to the street where he dies.
Yeah a bit iirc. The ice was my favourite. This movie was so messy in so many ways but it definitely got the right balance of pathos with those parts. That said, Jack Black butchered the beautiful moment with his "No! It was beauty who killed the beast" NO IT WASN;T IT WAS YOU YA GREEDY FECKER!

I have watched the DVD several times, but have NEVER seen when Kong dies. I KNOW it's cgi and fx, but I know I'd blub like a six year old.
shareThe funny thing is I think in the original '33 classic, the strongest and best element was Kong himself. I honestly cared about him over anyone else in that movie. This time, luckily, the strongest element is the relationship Kong has with Anne. I love the remake for that and of course, the state-of-the-art, revolutionary use of CGI. I felt deeply about Kong and Anne... and everything else seemed to sour the experience.

Yeah. I'm a straight guy in my mid-30s and I can honestly say that I'm crying buckets by the end of this movie. It's like I'm at a fcking funeral.
But then again, I've always had kind of a soft spot for Kong. But Andy Serkis and WETA brought him to life so well, so vividly, it's hard not to believe he's real.

It's on now I caught it at the part where Kong was annoyed shed ran off earlier and she sleeps on his hand, i cried as he was dissapointed shed ran and he wants a friend. Then crying when he chased her to the boat and they hurt him had to turn it off crying buckets.
