Watched it for the first time since its release..

And it's much better than what I remember. Keanu Reeves was perfect for their rendering of Constantine. He had this dry wit that just enhanced the tone of the movie. The whole thing seems like its so dry it should be boring. But it's not. It's like life in lifelessness, if that makes sense.

I absolutely love this movie. An intense performance by Keanu, and all of the other stars. The ending with Peter Stormare was an excellent scene. All of the dialogue within that scene is just great.

Anyone else agree that this is one of their favorite dark comic book movies?

I enjoyed it, though I wish they hadn't cut out Michelle Monaghan's performance almost completely out of the film.

Stormare tends to be memorable no matter where you put him.

I agree, it was fantastic. Any opinion on Reeves' performance? I personally thought it was great.

I agree without even having read the comics. After I saw the movie I was fascinated with the character and read up on his traits and lore. And you're right. I wonder if it was a misstep from Keanu and the crew, or if the Director wanted something a little different.
