Why Lucifer The Satan help Constantine??

Lucifer The Satan sent Balthazar after Constantine.(imdb FAQ)
Mammon is his own son.
Why would Satan stop Gabriel unleashing his own son, send his son to hell, and grant Constantine a wish??

I mean even if it was Gabriel who started it all, Lucifer The Satan's own son will rule the earth.

AND what's Midnite's identity?
He grabbed Constantine's belly like Lucifer The Satan did.

Because Lucifer has a deal/competition/war going on with God. They are both competing to get the most souls into their respective kingdoms. The rules specifically say they can't interfere, only influence with 'halfling' demons and angels.

Lucifer doesn't want to 'take over Earth'. He just wants more souls to end up in Hell. He has not interest in ruling the Earth and obviously doesn't want his son to either. It goes against the pact he has with God.

As for Midnite, he's just a halfling like Balthazar as far as I know.

Nope. He's completely human. He's immortal, but he's human. He practices Voodoo. He isn't associated with Angels or Demons.

No he tells Gabriel while holding his son "this world will be mine...in time". If his son takes over earth then he loses the bet and can't take over earth cause his son would be running it.

Isn't satan egotistical too, so that he would be second to his son? Almost like a competition between them with who can be the most powerful? Good question, by the way!

Basically Lucifer doesn't want hell on Earth. One hell is enough. Basically he doesn't want his son to usurp his throne.

Balthazar was not there to bring Mammon to Earth. He's there for the reason John states earlier. He's an "influence peddler." He and Gabriel happen to team up in order to create a new hell on Earth.

Papa Midnight is an immortal mob boss and practitioner of Voodoo. What he was doing to John was completely different from what Lucifer did.
