Time slows down when Gabriel tries to stab her with spear of destiny?

so why does time slow down ?
was it mentioned in movie/comics ?
or is it a plothole ?
and why time resumes the moment angela is pulled out ,whats the precise reason for it
been pndering over it for some time

After Hennessy's death, there's a scene where Constantine tells Angela about his past (including his suicide). He stated that time stopped when he died. Near the end, Constantine killed himself so that time will stop and Lucifer will come to collect his soul. I think Lucifer allowed time to resume normally so that he could he could defeat Mammon & Gabriel and gloat to their faces while doing so.

hehe
Taunting gabriel & his son makes sense :D
But Shouldnt Time slow up ONLY for John, instead of the whole world...
An Individual's Death shouldn't affect the flow of time for the entire universe, should it ?
And if Lucifer can indeed stop time & bring a dead constantine back to earth at his own will ,then what are the limits of his powers ,if any!?!?!?

Time for the person dying slows (or stops). Hence when john stares at a cat and in the time it take to close and open a door right back he'd already been to hell and back.

It showed time slowing for the Amanda in the tub too, the water droplet stopped moving.

So no, people inside time do not stop perceiving the passage of time. Rather once you are taken out of creation time virtually stops, while it continues for you separately on another plane.

Since Satan is powerful he joined John outside of time in that room to gloat... but then shifted into reality to confront the two people plotting against him. He didn't show any control over time, he just shifted back and forth without the need to commit suicide or undergo some ritual.

I think you're right, failedmagician, but if we think about it, time is only relevant on this plane. There won't be 'time' per se in heaven or hell. The slowing of time in the movie could indicate that as well. That that's the crossing of dimensions or planes. Lemme ponder it some more and get back atcha ;)

From Gabriels perspective time is flowing exactly the same way it always does. It appears to slow down from Johns point of view because he's died during his conversation with Lucifer.

Time appears to go back to normal when Lucifer saves her because he was phasing into reality so he could interact with Gabriel in real time.

He doesn't die during his conversation with Lucifer. Lucifer appears in the last few remaining moments before Constantine dies (which is represented by the glass and spear of destiny moving, albeit very slowly), and it's only when Lucifer resumes time to interact with Gabriel that Constantine's death arrives.

No, he doesn't die during the conversation. He's already dead by the time Lucifer arrives. Hence why nothing actually happens during their conversation.
