He was bone chillingly awesome in this film. Peter Stormare already has a pretty weird presence, but his speech and movements as Lucifer made this film completely worth watching for his small appearance.
"So, what do you you want, an extension?" - was delivered splendidly as I thought all of his lines were.
I also really liked Stormare's role in Brothers Grimm. He always seems to make a film much better. Anyone disagree with this post?
Only the best actors get to play the Devil. His talents are kind of wasted here, anyone could upstage Keanu. But he was awesome, and I've watched this scene over and over.
I agree, if I was gonna choose one actor in the whole world to play Satan, it would be Peter Stormare. I'm just sad they didn't give him a bit more screen time to work his magic. One of my all-time favourite actors.
Bellick: "We could be a team, like Butch and Sundance." Mahone: "Butch and Sundance died."
I agree too. Satan becomes scarier in his short time in the screen than a lot of comic villains become even if they are in the movie from first to last. Well done that actor!
Stormare and Byrne are my favorites on film thus far. A lot of stuff Byrne's does (kid with the Satan shirt scene, the gasoline part) seems plausible for Stormares's. They're both petty and incredibly evil. But yeah Byrne's was a real looker too.
It was NOT Satan it was Lucifer... LUCIFER... and Viggo Mortenson in Prophecy played LUCIFER also, NOT SATAN... SATAN and LUCIFER are two DIFFERENT fallen Angels. Gabriel Bryne's did play Satan... the others DID NOT...
Satan and Lucifer have over the centuries been tied together to the point of being snowballed into the same entity... THEY ARE NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Assuming this little pedantic rant of yours was even accurate, who cares? Its not even relevant to the thread, which is about the actor Peter Stormare. Moreover, I never said anything about who Stormare played, just that I liked his acting in both Constantine and The Brother's Grimm; so why are you responding to me?
BTW, in your subject title, the proper spelling is "you're" (as in you are all ignorant). If YOU'RE going to come and correct people about proper names (and respond to someone specific as an example) make sure that person has actually made the error in question, and of all things check your spelling so you don't come off like hypocritical buffoon.
1) It was not a direct response to you since even though I mistyped my first word is said ALL as in all the posters... not you specifically. You just happen to be the bottom post is all. And his portrayal in Constantine as Lucifer was really good, and in Brothers Grimm I didn't even realize it was him.
2) You're half right in my rant, yes the post is regarding the actor, yet it is regarding his acting in the role which EVERYONE gets wrong. PLUS someone did mention Viggo in Prophecy and called him Satan which is WRONG. Anytime The "Devil" is mentioned in a movie they always call Lucifer, Satan, which is incorrect... forgive me for trying to inform people of a common *beep* up...
3) And finally, again you attacked me personally, when I stated ALL so it wasn't directed at you personally, so I don't understand why you are attacking me personally. Also If my post didn't apply to you, why the hell did you even respond?? IF you bothered to pay attention, and other than maybe the Subject, my post was purely informative, I called no one a Tool, I did not point out a specific person as wrong, it was a general stop calling Lucifer, Satan, that is not right.
But re-reading your post you are obviously would rather act like a smartass and drool over a b-list actor... so please don't worry about responding too this, because I don't want you to take time from celebrating the greatness of Stormare.
actually I don't give a hoot about grammar... there's just a certain irony to you typing "your all ignorant", making such a typical mistake and then going on a rant about proper names which is about just as commonplace as the error you made.
i mean, if you're going to pick some message to respond to, wouldn't it make sense for it to be the one that best illustrates the so-called "error" you're trying to make an example out of?
instead, i have to get an email about how EVERYONE in the thread is ignorant over this whole satan/lucifer thing, and seeing as how I'm part of the thread, this applies to me regardless of whether you meant me personally or not. to add insult to injury, my post is chosen to be responded to... i.e. the sacrificial lamb, so to speak.
anyway, don't get on some high horse about me attacking you because calling folks ignorant isn't considered pleasant... in fact, it would probably been seen by many to be an "attack" in and of itself. my point is, if you're going to worry about the responses you receive then make sure you think about what it is you're doing and who you're saying it to. otherwise you can't expect people to be appreciative of efforts that could be seen as trivial and hypocritical at best, or insulting, insipid and incorrect at worst.
Was Peter Stormare playing Satan in Fargo when he put Steve Buscemi in the wood chipper? Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro have played a pretty good Devil also.
Old news, but I've been reading through threads on the awesome Peter Stormare...
I believe the tar on his feet is because he has to desecrate the Earth before he can walk on it, hence his feet being covered in this hellish substance he brings with him. Minor, but awesome detail.
