Lucifer

Good movie,

but why does Lucifer grant John one wish at the end? ("So what do you want?")

Yes he warned him about Gabriels plan with Mammon, but he could have taken him to hell anyway. Or is it a question of morality or honor?

I don't think it works like a genie in a bottle. He doesn't "grant him one wish". He just rightfully assume he owes Constantine one. It's more a question of balance than morality or honor.

I have to agree with you. Lucifer literally just looked like he was willing to grant a concession as a courtesy for warning him about his son screwing with everything he has so meticulously worked towards. Not like he owed him anything.

Memmnon would have destroyed everything with his lack of patience and since Constantine was literally the only person to relay this information to him he offered up "more time" knowing that eventually that soul was his anyways. He just couldn't see past his own interests that Constantine would be selfless for the first time in his life rather than doing good things hoping to earn credits towards his salvation.

Although it was a slick move by Lucifer to rip out his tumors and keep him on Earth. Gives him a fighting chance to still get his hands on the soul of the one man who keeps messing with his vision for humanity.

I think this is what makes this movie so faithful to the comic book. Constantine never was very powerful or some kind of wizard, he's just smart and a con-man. He always cheated and maneuvered his way out of danger.

It's also a GREAT twist. Lu and demons (or angels for that matter) just never understand things like sacrifice, so he never saw it coming. It's also part of the God's mysterious plan - Constantine suffered and killed himself to prepare himself for this moment, to save the world, to let Lucifer deal with his son. And then he had a choice to be selfish or say "ok I'll go to hell, but at least I saved the world and Isabelle". He didn't know for sure that it would work but he risked it anyways. He only knew he was dying anyways but he could do something to stop mammon. A true sacrifice!

John just saved Lucifers ass. Lucifer and God had an agreement and his son was about to break that agreement. Lucifer gave him a gift as a thank you. He saw Johns whole plan as a way to make a deal with Lucifer. John even mentions before that he plans on buying his way into heaven by sending all the demons back. Lucifer understands this and seems like John is wanting something for all his hard work, so he asks him what he wants.
