Yes it's flawed, but I don't hate it...
The weird thing about Blade: Trinity is that while I always found it the weakest of the three when I first saw it... I still didn't hate it, nor did anyone else I knew hate it. We thought it was a decent-enough follow-up. For a long time, I hadn't met anyone who was a fan of the series who actually overtly disliked it. In fact, I didn't know it was generally disliked before I stumbled onto the this site one day years later and discovered its infamy.
I was in high school the year this came out, and it really blew up at my school. A lot of the people I knew went out and saw it and enjoyed it. It was the sort-of "access film" for a lot of series fans that I know (particularly fans who were too young to see the original in theaters but were old enough by the time this one rolled out), and through it they discovered the first two and how great they were.
Maybe its because I came into it with no pre-conceived notions or knowledge of its behind-the-scenes drama, or maybe it's because I saw all three films for the first time in rapid succession (I wasn't one of the ones who watched this first, I had to watch them from the beginning, but I did it over the course of a few days)... but I still don't think it's an absolutely terrible film. Merely a bit underwhelming. And obviously nowhere near as good as the first two.
Anyone else have an experience with this film like this? Where you enjoyed it alright, but then found out about how much it was "hated" way after the fact?
And FURTHERMORE, this is my signature! SERIOUSLY! Did you think I was still talking about my point?
