holy crap this was bad

my friend Fil was with me and my friend Nick at Blockbuster and he really wanted to rent Into The Sun just to laugh at how bad Steven Seagal is at everything he does. so we rent it and watch it and wow, it wasn't funny in the slightest. well watching Seagal flail around pretending he knows karate or some crap was hilarious but this movie was so dull i fell asleep. the only thing i even remember from that movie was a part where the white guy following Seagal everywhere was being stalked by asians and they tried to make the scene really intense but it didn't work, you're just sitting there not caring because the white guy is such a sh*tty character that you really just want him to die. and if i remember correctly, he does. were we supposed to feel sad? oh and the cover for this movie is 100% misleading, there are no explosions in this movie and he doesn't have that giant gun on his back anytime throughout the movie. what a**hole would make this sh*t? mink? *beep* him already.

Thanks for the renting the movie... Sorry you felt it was so bad you were compeled to write it on the internet but opinions in all fashion are welcome.

Out of curiosty please inform me of a film in this genre and budget range that you feel is really good example of this kind of film. Please keep in mind the budget and the subject matter and keep it in the last 5 years please. Dont tell me Out for justice(my favorite) or Delta Force(another fav). As according to you I am an ....hole who makes this .hit. In actuality this picture was written & exec produced by Steven himself and I had little to do with the producing and or the writing. The box was SONY USA home video's choice of art. Incedently they do all that on their own with no or little input from the creators.

I personaly prefer the Japanese artwork which is ol skool YAKUZA style. Check it out here...

are you telling me that Steven Seagal and Chuck Norris movies are their own genre? bullsh*it dude. they make horrible movies and you should've thought about just NOT working with Steven Seagal. he's a complete hack and so is Chuck.

reply

I agree it was bad, but don't say it wasn't bad in a good way = funny. This movie was hilarious.

You have to consider that this is a contemporary example of the B-movies we enjoy so much from the 70s and 80s. The technology to make decent quality products has just become affordable for low budgets.

well if i really want to laugh at a bad movie i'd rather watch Riki-Oh or Snakes on a Plane because they're fun to watch, Into The Sun just bored the hell out of me. but at least it wasn't LASERBLAST worst movie i've ever seen.

Points of greatness:
1) The Japanese sword dealer shamelessly lathering Seagal with praise. You know Seagal wrote that part.
2) The Morticia Addams-esque lighting treatment on Seagal's face throughout.
3) The seduction of a young Japanese girl by a floppy, washed-up Seagal.

Rolling on the floor laughter follows!!!

Actually, Seagal is a MASTER of martial arts, specifically Aikido. He's not a hack, so do some research before you run your mouth.

He's a master of Aikido. More importantly, he's a pompous, conceited douche of an actor, who has been relegated to direct-to-video films.

His early films were pretty good. He obviously knew how to handle weapons and the martial arts thing wasn't a joke. Now, he's got stand-ins doing the stunts and he's got horrible hair plugs.

I'm not complaining because this makes his movies hilarious.

reply

Watch his latest film, Urban Justice. It's his best since Under Siege 2 and he did all his fighting himself, and no one dubs his lines for him. He's back in his cold-blooded bone-breaking form. He breaks all kinds of bones in that, and stabs a guy through the back of his neck, a move that rings to his Under Siege days.

He's out of shape in it, but it's vintage Seagal.

Sounds good. I'll check it out.

reply

Yeah, it was bad, but it also made me laugh a lot at how awful it was, so I can't really hate it 
