Question about Father/Daughter Reunion

First, I have to say that I loved this movie! However, I was wondering if the part in which the father reunites with his daughter was edited.

When I watched it, the father is shown at the door after talking with Terry, who is on his way out of town. Then the scene leads to a commercial. Was there any interaction between the father and daughter? Usually, in these types of scenes, the daughter (or wife or girlfriend) is shown answering the door and at least letting the person in.

I'm happy that I found out they reunited at the end, but with so much turmoil in their pasts and the storyline paying so much attention to their situation, I thought that the reunion deserved a few extra minutes of airtime.
