Look, it's 2013. If you haven't realized by now that you don't think Will Ferrell is funny, then you should just move along and stop posting how stupid you think this movie is.

IT'S MEANT TO BE STUPID. IT'S ABSURD. THAT'S THE TYPE OF COMEDY THIS IS.

There are no plotholes, it's just one absurd juxtaposition after another. And that's why it's funny. And if you don't get that, if that doesn't make you laugh, fine, but stop pointing that out to the rest of us, because we don't give a sh!t.

Some people thought Monty Python wasn't funny. Some people don't like Robin Williams. And some people don't like Will Ferrell's brand of insanity. All of this is fine, but comedy is subjective. If you don't get it, you just have to cross that particular brand of comedy off of your list. But going on and on about the current state of comedy, about why Will Ferrell sucks, it isn't going to effect any of us who do think this is funny. It's not as if we're going to all of a sudden going to agree with you and stop laughing.

So, for the TL;DR crowd, here's my message: just shut the f@ck up.

Hey, Tresix. So you keep on going back to the well, when you know it's empty?

Look, I've made this same mistake myself - with Merchant/Ivory films. To me, they are the most goddawful movies ever made. All of them. But I kept on going back to them, again, and again, for what - the stars? the production values? the period furniture? And I have only myself to blame for getting sucked in by another one, when I know what I'm getting.

But you don't hear me going on and on about it. All right, I did go on and on about it - but in real life, to my wife, not on these boards! (Because she is a dedicated Anglophile, and loved M/I movies.) That's all I'm saying.

Oh, no, I'm not trying to say that you're posting frequently about this. But some people are. They're going from Ferrell movie to Ferrell movie, and trashing him. Once - fine. But after seeing his movies and getting his humor, why would someone keep on watching his movies? I leaned my lesson with Merchant/Ivory, and fortunately, one of them died, so I never have to deal with it again. Why can't others learn their lesson that Ferrell humor is what it is, and won't change?

Have you ever seen a Merchant/Ivory movie? His death has done the world an incredible service.

all of his movies have plotholes, they dont make any sense when you apply logic.

Will ferrell's comedy is ruining the future of comedy because he exists for dumb people to laugh at. If he keeps making movies all of comedy will suffer and in 10 years all we will have is poop joke movies.

See, Tresix, this guy is exactly what I'm talking about - coming to Will Ferrell movie boards just to trash talk. It's not as if Ferrell's got four different types of comedy, and he switches it up. Nope, it's just the same stupid idiot kind of humor, everytime, which I love - but these people still keep coming anyway.

Jgroub, anchorman2 launched in Dublin last night with great noise and hype.
I came onto Imdb to remind myself about the first one.
I don't watch many movies but tried Anchorman the original. Your defence of Ferrel is admirable but I think misguided
It really had nothing to offer me whatsoever.
I presume the second half is hilarious, I didn't make it.

That stated, your byline from the vapours is a curiosity. I think Will Ferrell could have written the song. A clear pastime.

This movie is so stupid. Its not even funny. Its just really hard to watch. What type of people find this funny? Am i too smart to get the humor or am I too stupid to get the humor?

Go f@ckk yourself with your limp opinion. This movie sucks and it has nothing to do with it being a certain style. To compare it with Python, wow, you are the lame one. Its pretty obvious that this was just thrown together thinking the comedic talent hired for the movie would just pull it off. The dialogue sucked, most of the jokes sucked. I will say that I understand every one you make isn't gong to hit it out of the park. Ferrell has made me laugh out loud before, just not in this movie.
