Philosophical Movies
I like this movie and enjoy its absurdities, like the scenes when Jason Schwartzman is in the bag, and everyone's faces break off into little squares.
I like that it discusses philosophy in a straightforward way. The only other movies I can think of that does that is "Waking Life" and other Linklaters like the "Before Sunrise" series, which I also enjoy.
I think "everything is connected" is a very important idea and it's helpful to be reminded of it, whether directly or indirectly. It reminds you that your actions affect other people and the environment, and encourages you to remain thoughtful.
Another good part of the movie was the hitting each other with the ball, and assuming they'd found a philosophical breakthrough. Everyone's so desperate to find an antidote for the pain.
Do you find there's a connection between the movie's existential philosophers' ideas and transcendental meditation?
