The novel is so much better and different !!!

Stephen King writes great novels, and this movie doesn't work, either as adaptation or horror whatsoever....

The book is old and some things had to be updated for modern times I didn't think it was such a bad interpretation. It was good enough.Overall I still prefer Tobe Hooper's version of the story.

Obviously they couldn't go into as much detail as King did with the town and it's residence. And also keep in mind that it was made for TV so they had to make some cuts. Still though, I agree the novel was better.

Ironically enough, the version that best captures the book is the BBC radio dramatization from 1995.

Nah, the best version is the audio book read by Ron Mclarty is the best version.

Neither of the movies were any good compared to the book.

Its not about leaving stuff out. Its about them changing the characters to the point that they are nothing like the characters in the book. Ben...Father Callahan..The Doc...Mark...Matt.None of these people were anything like the ones in the book.
