I saw this when it originally aired...
but as that was several years ago, I figured I would give it another shot.
Nope. Still sucks.
The original, however, is a CLASSIC!

I'm in the minority here, but I liked this one slightly better than the 1979 series. The main problem I have with both of them is that neither of them is really all that close to the book, although this one was a little better in that regard.
shareI saw it when it originally aired as well. I was 24 at the time, and I remember seeing a billboard for it Fort Worth, TX (where I was living at the time) and getting all excited. I was a huge Stephen King fan, I still read the books back then and owned the original Salem's Lot mini-series on DVD. I made it a point to be home and watch it. I really enjoyed it myself. It wasn't perfect, but it's a made-for-TV adaptation of a Stephen King novel, I wasn't expecting cinematic perfection.
See you guys at the 10 year prison reunion - Ben Richards

I'm gonna watch the "re-make" again shortly, and I'll let you know if my opinion changes. The film just bored me back in 2004, as another said on here.
